To celebrate the 69th Anniversary of the Founding of the People’s Republic of China, the International Section (Secondary) at Kao Yip School conducted a theme-based inquiry activity. This activity also illustrated the characteristics of the International Curriculum, as it both developed students’ patriotic sentiment in combination with the ten attributes of the IB Learner Profile.
During the activity, students gave presentations on seven topics: “The Origins of the National Flag, National Emblem and National Anthem”, “The Establishment of the People’s Republic of China”, “The Chinese Culture: What We are Proud of”, “Reform and Opening”, “The Belt and Road Initiative”, “The Greater Bay Area”, and “Chinese Dream, My Dream”. Students were highly regarded by teachers and students with their excellent public-speaking style and body language, as well as the informativeness of the presentation concluded from substantial research.
為慶祝中華人民共和國六十九週年華誕,弘揚我校愛國愛澳的優良傳統,突出國際課程對國家情懷并結合國際課程十大培養目標,在新中國成立69周年之際,教業中學國際中心(中學)組織了慶祝國慶主題探究活動,藉此為學生的合作、研究、交流和反思提供了平台,學生既能有效結合課程所學技能,又培養了學生熱愛家國的情感。
此次活動以各班學生小組合作模式進行,透過搜集、討論和總結相關資料,形成各組獨特的學術成果,再與全班分享,有助於提升學生的合作、探究、反思和演講能力。本次探究的七個主題分別是:國旗、國徽和國歌的故事;新中國的由來;引以為傲的中國文化;改革開放;一帶一路;大灣區;中國夢·我的夢。
首先各班利用班會課進行展示并選出一個小組代表于9月28日在學校五樓報告廳由初二5、初二6、初三5和初三6班代表組別圍繞著中國夢·我的夢、一帶一路、大灣區和國旗、國徽和國歌的故事作主題分享。同學們準備充分,形式多樣,站在台上或旁征博引或引經據典,表達流暢、自然、大方,贏得師生們的高度評價和熱烈掌聲。尤其是初二5班學生透過口述表達和肢體語言立體詮釋中國夢·我的夢,讓觀眾近距離感受到中國夢近在咫尺,而“我”的夢也正在實現。師生透過聆聽同學們演講和觀看同學們的簡報或者身體語言的表達,進一步促進師生對國家國情的了解,充分體現出以學生為主的慶國慶活動取得圓滿成功。
