小學項目的目的之一是為3至12歲年齡段的學生創建一套具有趣味性、相關性、挑戰性和重要性的超學科課程。

小學項目的教學尋求以下幾個方面之間的平衡:習得重要的知識與技能、發展對概念的理解、表現出積極的學習態度以及採取負責任的行動。

小學 項目中具體規定的學習科目包括語言、數學、社會學、科學、個人教育、社會教育、體育和藝術。

小學項目將重點放在超學科的主題上。其六大主題是:我們是誰,我們身處什麼時空,我們如何表達自己,世界如何運作,我們如何組織自己,共用地球。

An aim of the PYP is to create a trans-disciplinary curriculum that is engaging, relevant, challenging and significant for learners in the 3–12 age range.

In the PYP a balance is sought between acquisition of essential knowledge and skills, development of conceptual understanding, demonstration of positive attitudes, and taking of responsible action.

The subjects include language, mathematics, social studies, science, personal, social and physical education, and the arts.

The curriculum is trans-disciplinary, meaning that it focuses on issues that go across subject areas. There are six trans-disciplinary themes: who we are, where we are in place and time, how we express ourselves, how the world works, how we organize ourselves, sharing the planet.
