學校前身是1910年孔教會創辦的孔教中學和1949年澳門銀業工會創立的銀業小學。1975年兩校合併，易名為澳門教業中學。首任校長為何賢先生。
Hong Kao Middle School, founded by the Confucius Association in 1910, and Ngan Yip Primary School, founded by the Macau Association of Banks in 1949, merged into Kao Yip Middle School in 1975. The founding principal was Mr.Ho Yin.
澳門教業中學已有超過一百年的歷史，是一間提供從幼稚園至高中教育的學校，現任校長為賀誠先生。隨着時代的發展，學校辦學規模擴大。2004年1月，學校在新口岸增設小學暨幼稚園。2009年11月中學新校舍落成啟用。2010年9月，學校將大炮台街6-6號改設小學暨幼稚園。由此，形成了“一校三部”的格局。為更好地適應澳門社會未來經濟發展的新形勢，學校將“家國情懷、傳統根基、世界眼光”作為新時代的人才培養規格，秉承愛國愛澳傳統和先進國際教育理念。既傳承中華優秀傳統文化，又體現現代教育理念、課程特色，具“中英雙語並重、中西文化融匯”明顯優勢。
Kao Yip Middle School has a history of more than a century. It provides education at all levels from kindergarten to high school. The current school principal is Dr. HE, Cheng.
The school grows with the times. In January 2004, the kindergarten and primary school section were established at Porto Exterior. In November 2009, the new school building for the middle school section was completed. In September 2010, the building at NO.6-6, Rua da Monte was dedicated to the kindergarten and primary school section. Thus, the three sections of our school were established.
In order to better adapt to the future social and economic development of Macao, our school has established the educational philosophy aiming to cultivate a new generation of youth with a deep love of their motherland, traditional wisdom and global vision. While continuing the tradition of “loving motherland and Macau”, initiated by our founders, our school encompass advanced international education philosophy. Teaching and learning at our school inherit the essence of traditional Chinese culture, and adopts modern international education strategies and practices. We also encourage students to master both Chinese and English languages, as well as understand and discern different cultures.

國際部在嚴格遵循澳門“正規教育課程框架”及“基本學力要求”的基礎上，導入IB國際課程。2016年1月，國際部小學和幼稚園獲得IB國際文憑組織授權成為澳門第一所“IB國際課程預授權PYP學校”；同年3月，國際部初中獲“IB國際課程預授權MYP學校”；2018年5月，國際部高中國際課程IBDP項目獲得預授權。2020年1月獲得IBDP項目授權。國際部高中在2019年招收首屆國際班，從而形成貫通小幼PYP到初中MYP、高中DP的國際課程項目， 實現為澳門學生提供免費的國際教育的目標。
On the basis of the “Curriculum Framework for Formal Education” and the “Requirements of Basic Academic Attainments”, the Kindergarten and Primary school section at Porto Exterior and some classes of the Middle School section have introduced the IB curriculum. In January 2016, the Kindergarten and Primary School section at Porto Exterior were authorized by the International Baccalaureate as the first Primary Years Programme (PYP) Candidate School in Macau. In March 2016, the Middle School section was authorized to be the first Middle Years Programme (MYP) Candidate School in Macau. In May 2018, the High School section became the Diploma Programme (DP) Candidate School. In January 2020, the High School section was officially authorised to conduct the Diploma Programme (DP). A K-12 international education continuum programme is being firmly established, so as to actualize the objectives of providing free education of the highest quality to the students in Macau.
